Q1: What types of degrees are available at Generations?
A: Generations College currently offers online and campus two-year Associate Degrees in Court Reporting, Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration. As well as online degree programs for Business Administration and Criminal Justice.

Q3: Do you require a personal essay and letters of recommendation?
A: A personal essay is not required but recommended. Letters of recommendation are not required but recommended as well. These can be submitted along with the application to the Admissions office at admissions@Generations.edu.
Q4: Where is Generations College located?
A: We are located in downtown Chicago, at 29 East Madison Street, on the second floor of the Historic Heyworth building. Generations College is near the South Shore, Illinois Central, Rock Island, Milwaukee Road, Burlington, and Northwestern trains. In addition, we are close to the CTA Madison/Wabash stop.
Q5: What other ways can I be accepted to Generations?
A: Generations College also accepts students who have completed their GED and provide their official GED transcripts.
Q6: How many transfer credits does Generations accept?
A: This depends upon the program you are enrolled in. For any degree you must have a minimum of 36 semester hours from Generations College.
Q7: How do I find out which classes will transfer and how many credits will be accepted?
A: The best way to do this is by making an appointment with the Registrar, who can help you figure out where your courses will fit and what you'll need to complete here at Generations.
Q8: How many students attend Generations College?
A: Generations College enrolls anywhere from 250 to 310 students each year. We are a small, close-knit community of students, faculty, and staff.
Q9: How diverse is your school?
A: We celebrate diversity here at Generations! Over 70% of our students are African American, Latino, Asian American, and Native American. The diversity of our student body also extends to a wide variety of educational backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities.
Q10: How safe is your campus?
A: Generations College is located inside the safe and secure Heyworth building. Visitors are required to check in at the lobby of the building and again once inside the Generations College campus. The building has hired security guards on duty at all times. The Heyworth building is on a well-lit main street with extremely close access to public transportation.
Q11: What is the average class size?
A: Generations College prides itself on the personal attention which each student receives. The average class size ranges from 15 to 25 students.

A: Registration is ongoing.
Q13: What kinds of scholarships do you offer new students?
A: We have a wide variety of scholarships available to our students and those scholarships can be viewed here.
Q14: Are there scholarships available for new students?
A: Yes, there are. The deadline is always by the add/drop date each semester.
Q15: Do you accept AP credit?
A: Yes! Students who take the AP exam in any subject and score a "3" may receive 3 college credits in that subject.
Q16: Can I receive financial aid in addition to scholarships?
A: Yes, more than 88% of Generations students receive some kind of financial aid based on need and/or merit. We recommend all students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to determine how much aid can be awarded.
